ABOUT OUR COVER

"The Grouse Hunter" oil, 9"x12" by Frank B. Hoffman 1888-1958. Hoffman was a frequent contributor of illustrations to the Saturday Evening Post, Cosmopolitian, and McCall's magazines. In the mid 1940s he signed a contract with Brown and Bigalow and over a 14 year period he submitted each year 12 paintings of hunting, fishing, and wildlife scenes. These paintings were reproduced by Brown and Bigalow as calendar illustrations. This painting is representative of that period in Hoffman's career.
